Welcome to Cullman, Alabama.
We are centrally located between Huntsville and Birmingham. Cullman was founded in 1873 by a German immigrant named Col. John Gottfried Cullmann. Our city government consists of a Mayor and a five-member City Council who are elected by popular vote to serve concurrent four-year terms. We have an outstanding school system that consistently ranks among the top in Alabama.
We have abundant law enforcement and emergency services, low crime rate, excellent health care facilities, a vast, well-trained labor force and an extensive transportation network.
